Horripilant is a chilling incremental dungeon crawl through the horrors of a forgotten underworld. Combining idler, puzzle and autobattler elements, you'll fight, mine, and think your way through the depths of a forsaken dungeon. With each step you'll grow stronger, and if you ever feel lost, the Horripilant Wiki community is here to guide you.
You awaken. An old, battered knight, lost in the darkest corners of an abandoned dungeon, with no memory of how you got there. The stench of decay permeates the thick air. The walls seem to whisper your name.
A strange tree catches your eye. Barely a sprout, growing in defiance of the dark. The voice demands you hit it. A twig breaks off onto the ground. The first of many.
Encounter bizarre characters, survive the horrors that lurk in every shadow, and solve cryptic Horripilant puzzles. Will you escape this living nightmare, or will it consume you?

The developers are currently investigating a memory leak in the Godot engine that causes lag over time. If you experience this, try restarting your Horripilant game. If you want to help, the dev team asks you to report: how long you played, your PC specs, and whether you are using an autoclicker (and at what frequency).
It's an intended mechanic! As of Patch 1.2, once your helmet reaches its speed cap, it performs a "softer" reset (dropping to 0.75 speed instead of 0). As a trade-off for this reset, it grants a permanent 5x damage multiplier. Check our Horripilant guide for more equipment math.
Puzzles in this game require serious out-of-the-box thinking. Sometimes you simply need to delve deeper into the dungeon to find missing items. If you get stuck, try visiting the NPC hidden in the cave crack for hints, or check out our dedicated Horripilant puzzles section for the exact answers to every camp riddle.
As noted by the Horripilant Wiki community, this is currently a limitation within the Godot engine itself. Because controllers manage basic UI elements in the background, the input can't be entirely disabled right now. The developer is actively waiting for an engine update to fix this.
The client automatically locks resolution options if it detects that your screen height can't fit the window alongside your taskbar. Additionally, playing the Horripilant Steam version in full-screen mode permanently locks the render at 1920x1080, so the option is disabled to avoid any UI confusion while you play.
While the developer just released balance Patch 1.2, the core game is currently considered feature-complete. There might be some challenge runs added in the future, but no concrete plans for massive content expansions right now. We will keep the Horripilant Wiki updated if any new floors are announced!
